Credit7 is a financial company in the consumer online lending market. The company’s operations are regulated in accordance with NBU requirements.
As our business grows, we are looking for a Compliance Counsel to provide legal support for the compliance system, minimize regulatory risks, and ensure the company’s operations comply with Ukrainian legislation and NBU regulations.
Key tasks
- Legal support of the compliance system and ensuring the company’s compliance with Ukrainian legislation.
- Drafting, legal analysis, and updating of internal regulatory documents (policies, regulations, procedures, and job descriptions).
- Monitoring changes in Ukrainian legislation and regulations, including: NBU regulation; financial monitoring (AML/CFT); consumer protection; personal data protection; anti-corruption legislation; corporate law.
- Initiating and implementing necessary changes to internal documents and business processes in line with new legislative and regulatory requirements.
- Providing legal advice to business units on compliance matters, regulatory requirements, and legal risk assessment.
- Conducting legal review of internal documents and processes for compliance with current legislation.
- Participating in compliance checks, internal investigations, and compliance risk assessments.
- Liaising with the National Bank of Ukraine, the State Financial Monitoring Service, and other government bodies: preparing responses to official requests; supporting inspections; communicating with regulators.
- Organizing and conducting employee training on compliance, financial monitoring, personal data protection, and anti-corruption legislation.
- Participating in improving the internal control system, compliance risk management, and developing a compliance culture within the company.
Knowledge and skills
- Higher legal education.
- 2+ years of experience as a lawyer or compliance counsel in banking or finance.
- Solid knowledge of Ukrainian legislation, including: financial services; NBU regulatory requirements; financial monitoring (AML/CFT); corporate governance; personal data protection; consumer protection.
- Hands-on experience drafting and updating internal regulatory documents; preparing legal opinions and advice; liaising with government and regulatory bodies; supporting inspections by regulators.
- Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, a systematic approach to work, and the ability to handle large volumes of regulatory information.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and legal information systems is a plus.
- Professional compliance certifications (ICA, ACAMS, NBU certificates, or similar) are a plus.
