We are currently seeking an experienced CEO South Africa to lead and further scale our established Payday Loan (PDL) business in South Africa. This is a high-impact leadership role for a commercially driven executive with strong experience in retail banking, consumer lending, fintech, or digital lending operations within the SADC region.
Your mission
As CEO, you will be fully responsible for the performance, profitability, and growth of our South African business, leading a large local team while driving operational excellence, portfolio quality, and sustainable growth in compliance with the National Credit Act (NCA).
What you’ll do
- Lead the overall business strategy and day-to-day operations in South Africa from our Cape Town office;
- Develop and execute growth plans aligned with the company’s regional strategy and local market dynamics;
- Build and manage a strong local leadership team across Operations, Risk, Sales, Marketing, and Customer Support;
- Drive business performance and ensure achievement of revenue, profitability, and portfolio targets;
- Identify new market opportunities and partnerships to accelerate business growth in the South African fintech landscape;
- Ensure full compliance with South African regulatory requirements (NCR, FSCA, POPIA) and maintain strong relationships with regulators;
- Represent the company externally with key stakeholders, partners, banks, and financial institutions;
- Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and consumer behavior specific to the South African credit market;
- Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and financial performance management.
What we’re looking for
- 5+ years of experience in senior leadership roles (CEO, Country Manager, Managing Director, or similar);
- Proven background in fintech, consumer finance, banking, or digital financial services;
- Strong experience managing business operations across international markets and diverse regulatory environments;
- Demonstrated success in scaling businesses and leading high-performing cross-functional teams in multiple countries;
- Professional-level English for daily communication with international teams; Russian and/or Ukrainian language skills are critical.
